Description

The focus is upon care of clients through the life cycle. The content areas of the course includes an introduction to care of the surgical patient; care of the patient with inflammation/infection, immune system, and renal system alterations; maintenance of fluid and electrolyte/acid-base balance; maintenance of the musculoskeletal system; and care of the client with cancer; and end-of-life care. Learning experiences are provided in lab, simulation, and a variety of clinical settings. The nursing process is used to implement the preventive, therapeutic and supportive care of clients and families evidencing various states of health and illness. Prerequisites: Nrsg 205, Nrsg 206, Nrsg 210, all supportive courses. Offered: Fall
