Do you do video? Nikki Laine ZinkeShow MyInfo popup for Nikki Laine Zinke 9/17/2014 1:50:00 PM
The Stutsman County Memorial Museum board is looking for a way to feature short video clips of each room in the Lutz Mansion here in Jamestown.
Vice President David Nelson says the museum is looking for: "Something like a news story featuring a reporter walking through the mansion."
The video clips will be featured on the museum's Facebook page - and IN YOUR PORTFOLIO ?!?!?!?!
We'll need an on-camera reporter, a videographer and a video editor. Video editor role may be filled by the reporter or videographer, depending on skills and interest.

Kathy Steiner, editor of the Jamestown Sun, is searching for a part-time paginator. It's a paid position, two-three days a week.

Here's what Kathy says about the job:

"We train. The person has to have decent computer skills, aptitude for software. It's 3 days a week, but I am willing to hire someone for 2... Hours are typically 6 to 10:30 p.m. (sooner if pages done but 10:30 average)."

If you or someone you know might be interested in the position, or you want to learn more about what a paginator at a daily newspaper does, let me know.

It will be important as we move forward to get everyone on the same page and working efficiently toward our common goals. As such, in the next several days, I will be working with all of you to build out this group page so it grows into our one-stop shop for all things SMC. To that end, I ask each of you to do the following:

  • Check out the Group Directory page. If someone isn't there that should be, personally invite them to join our group.
  • Take a look around the portal and give some thought to what you think should be here. Jot down your thoughts and bring them to our next Content Team meeting. Your ideas = OUR SUCCESS.
  • Subscribe to the SMC Calendar. I will post all future group meeting times as well as various deadlines on the calendar. (To that end, if you are hosting a meeting related to student media and wish it to appear on our group calendar, send me an email with all the particulars: What, When, Where, Why, Who -- and I'll add it to the master calendar.)
  • Check out the Discussion Page. Nothing's posted there yet, but we will use it for group communication and discussion - so be sure to check it out and SUBSCRIBE to the discussion page so as not to miss pertinent info.

Here's to a great year!
