Counseling Children and Adolescents (COUN 531)

I am a Jamestown native and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Jamestown in 2001 (Psychology/Criminal Justice).  After college, I spent 10 years in the Bismarck/Mandan area before returning to Jamestown with my husband and kids.

 

I have a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Counseling. I am licensed in North Dakota as a Licensed Addiction Counselor and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and have over 20 years of clinical experience working with youth, adults and families. I also have clinical supervision and administrative experience.

Description

Counseling with children and adolescents including specific counseling strategies; mental, physical, and emotional development issues related to counseling. This course provides a general framework for understanding psychopathology in the child and adolescent population and the process of diagnosing and designing treatment plans for mental disorders in children and adolescents. Prereq: Coun 510, 511.
