Description
Study and discussion of the short story as the essential narrative form, with emphasis on qualities apparent in successful short stories and the methods and techniques used to achieve that success in aesthetically satisfying stories, with a portfolio at least three revised stories required by semester's end. Recent emphases include The Traditional Short Story, The Brief Short, and Flash Fiction. May be repeated for credit with the permission of the instructor. Prerequisite: Engl 102 or permission of instructor.
