This course is an overview of popular music in the United States covering the roots of rock and roll to music of the present day. Music fundamentals are covered in this general music class. Major styles, representative artists and the conditions from which they rose are explored. Sociological, economic and cultural factos that shaped the music of different eras are also examined. For the non-music major.
