Description

The course focuses on the concepts of people, health, and nursing and serves as the basis for the remaining nursing curriculum. Individuals are viewed as biopsychosocial-spiritual beings who vacillate on the health care spectrum throughout the life cycle. The role of the nurse in the health care delivery system and principles of medication administration are introduced. The nursing process is used in providing individualized nursing care. Learning experiences are provided in the classroom, learning laboratory, and health care agencies. Prerequisites: Nrsg 205; Biol 208; Biol 216; Soc 101 OR Soc 223; Psyc 203. Corequisite: Nrsg 206; Biol 209. Offered: Spring
