An examination of the U.S. government's policies toward the native peoples and nations of North America. Topics covered include warfare, treaty and treaty negotiation; land policies and seizures; assimilation programs and boarding schools; citizenship debates; questions of sovereignty; and Indigenous identities within and beyond U.S. law.
