Psycology and Law (PSYC 430)

Description

This seminar course introduces the student to the interconnected nature of applied psychology and the legal system. Students are offered an opportunity to explore the vast nature of the field and understand the ways in which psychology and the legal system affect and inform each other. Emphasis is on psychology and the courts, juries and jury decision-making, eyewitness testimony, evidence and related issues, the psychology of criminal behavior, and the psychology of law enforcement. Students wil have the opportunity to explore elements of course content that are of particular interest to them. (Maybe taken under supervision of appropriate faculty member.) Prerequisites: Psyc 101 or 203, or permission.
